Points of Interest

The Park mainly consists of areas dedicated to agriculture, with rural farmsteads which are still active, but it is also characterized by realities linked to the fruition of green which have been elaborated and developed in recent years. It is enough to mention Cava Nord (the Northern Quarry) in Paderno Dugnano, protagonist of an exemplary recovery, Muggiò Park, and the sport grounds in Nova Milanese and in Paderno.
The historical Villa Bagatti-Valsecchi in Varedo stands out together with its park and its prospective driveway extending until Paderno Dugnano.
Then there is Villoresi, an artificial irrigation channel which gave the second name to the Park and which has become an almost natural element of the landscape with its banks covered with trees, reminding us the 19th-century enhancement of agriculture. Its towpath going from Ticino to Adda for over 80 km connects the Municipalities of Grugnotorto Villoresi Park, the green areas, and the local and regional parks of Nord Milano and Brianza.
Further requalification and reforestation measures are: Sant'Eusebio Nature Sanctuary in Cinisello Balsamo with the small lake created by recovering one of the former supply basins of the layer and Oasi dei Gelsi in Paderno Dugnano where you will find a Nature Trail with some panels identifying the plants.
One of the latest measures carried out by the Park, besides the several reforested areas, is the Connection from Nova Milanese to Cinisello Balsamo, given back to the citizens together with the reactivation of a secondary channel of Villoresi.
At the edges of the Park there are other significant historical and urban presences: the complex of Villa Agnesi at Valera di Varedo, countryside house of the mathematician Gaetana Agnesi, quartiere Milanino, in Cusano Milanino, a small town-garden planned and created in the early 20th century, the small church of Sant'Eusebio in Cinisello Balsamo dating back to the Lombard period.
